Living and working in Brooklyn, New York. I received my BFA in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking from Georgia State University.

 

My work revolves more or less around the human figure and portraiture, which appropriates and is influenced by vintage erotica and pornography. These subjects inspire me to create a narrative that is often overlooked. Within the ideology of sexuality, it is seen as a visceral, sinister act in which we all partake. Although the imagery can be disturbing or offensive in certain aspects that is where in lies the challenge. To create beauty from scenarios dismissed with disgust or disdain. I wanted to liberate the idea behind erotica, specifically female sexuality and take it out of its original context by putting it into a fine art setting. Not only to allow what is societally off limits, snuff content, it is a way to also refer back to a primitiveness, to our primitive self; our animalistic and sexual impulses that is in our true nature and how we've evolved to hinder the freedoms of our desires.
